Shane McCracken

DIRECTOR

Blame Shane. He started it all and as the director he is ultimately responsible. His early career was in advertising and publishing and marketing is not a dirty word. Email Shane.
 
 

Hannah Higson

Head of Education

Hannah joined the team in January 2022 on the I’m a… projects. Having previously taught in a primary school she has joined the team as a Project Wrangler, working closely with teachers.

Georgia Lambert

Head of Scientists

Georgia (she/her) joined us in 2024 after completing a PhD in evolutionary biology. Having previously participated in the project as a scientist, she now works with the scientists mathematicians, engineers and computer scientists taking part. Email Georgia.
 
 
 
 

Jimena Rubio Juncal

Event WRANGLER

Jimena joined the team in 2024 after finishing her Psychology degree, looking for a fulfilling job in the charity sector. She provides general support, mainly working with teachers. Email Jimena.
 

 

Josh Doyle

Data WRANGLER

Josh joined us in 2013 after a chemistry degree and a stint as a moderator on the projects. He now works remotely helping us with evaluation, systems, data, but never coffee. Email Josh.

What is I’m a Scientist?

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here is an online activity where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.

It’s a competition between scientists, where the students are the judges.

Students challenge the scientists over intense, online Chats. Then they Ask follow up questions to all the Scientists, and Vote for their favourite scientist to win a prize of €500 to communicate their work with the public.
