The Helium Zone was funded by the Science Foundation Ireland. It had a low attendance of only 207 students, much less than the average audience of 312 students per zone. This was due to the fact that some classes didn’t turn up in the end. Nevertheless, the zone registered a high activity in terms of page views and there were very interesting live chats, especially during the first week of the event.
I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here is an online activity where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.
It’s a competition between scientists, where the students are the judges.
Students challenge the scientists over intense, online Chats. Then they Ask follow up questions to all the Scientists, and Vote for their favourite scientist to win a prize of €500 to communicate their work with the public.
